I am a carpenter and designer, living in a small island community on the largest freshwater lake in the world. I am deeply invested in disrupting the cycle of intergenerational trauma in my own lineage and my communities. I am more interested in the exploration of questions than the proving of answers.

Ashland to Mile 1717.5
Pacific Crest Trail Thru-Hike: Day 104

53.2 miles from Fish Lake Resort, so we should get there on the 19th no problem. We’re walking with SAM!!! Trail angel Taxi Tyler and his golden retriever gave us a ride to the trailhead and sent us on our way with a loaf of zucchini bread. He’s doing trail next year.

I exchanged my Darn Toughs to day and bought new shoes—Nike Wild Horse.

The hostel was great, slept in air conditioning. Did laundry. Saw Vice and Boathouse in town. Talked to ladies in the Shakespeare Costume Museum. Talked to folks in the information booth. Ate fantastic Indian food. Learned even more about the fire closures and how they’re getting all fucked up. Heard from Stone, that we’ll be seeing him again around 9/10 in the Seattle area for trail magic. Heard from Flame, who will be getting to Etna tomorrow. Heard from BENNY!!!!!!!! She’s in Etna now and figuring out what to do about the fires.

We’re camping with Sam, all is good and well with the world. I do miss my family, mom and dad and Ben, though.
